San Francisco, CA – July 2024. Eye Hero has announced the introduction of Active Peripheral Stimulation (APS), a new feature designed to strengthen peripheral vision and enhance overall eye coordination training within its platform.

APS is integrated directly into Eye Hero’s training exercises, adding a new layer of visual stimulation that helps patients respond more effectively to activity outside their central field of view.

What’s New

  • Introduction of Active Peripheral Stimulation (APS)
  • Enhanced peripheral vision engagement during training
  • Improved overall training dynamics and interaction

Expanding Beyond Central Vision Training

Most traditional vision training methods focus primarily on central vision. With APS, Eye Hero expands this approach by actively engaging the peripheral field of view during exercises. This allows patients to:

  • Improve awareness of their surroundings
  • React more quickly to visual changes outside the center of focus
  • Train both central and peripheral vision together

By combining these elements, APS creates a more complete and dynamic training experience.

Designed for More Effective Training

APS works by introducing interactive visual elements in the background of exercises, encouraging patients to stay aware of both central tasks and surrounding stimuli. Key benefits include:

  • Increased engagement during training sessions
  • More natural visual interaction
  • Improved coordination between different areas of vision

This approach helps make training more active, intuitive, and effective for a wide range of patients.

Seamless Integration into Eye Hero Exercises

The APS feature is fully integrated into the Eye Hero platform and works automatically within selected exercises. Visual elements appear in different positions and sequences, encouraging continuous attention and response.

This creates a training environment that is both challenging and engaging, without adding complexity for either professionals or patients.

Availability

Active Peripheral Stimulation (APS) is now available to all Eye Hero providers and users as part of the latest platform update.
